FÀTIMA BOIX

Fàtima holds the Second and solo E-flat Clarinet position at the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Born in Alicante (Spain), she graduated from the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki (finland), under the guidance of Harri Mäki, Olli Leppäniemi and Christoffer Sundqvist.

Professionaly, She has been colaborating with many orchestras: Tapiola Sinfonietta, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Finnish National Opera Orchestra, etc.

After winning the Music Academy of the West Concerto Competition in Santa Barbara (California), she premiered the Concerto for Piccolo Clarinet and Orchestra by William Neil.

She has also premiered pieces by composers like Lauri Supponen, Sebastian Hilli, Sergio Castrillón, José Luis Gómez Aleixandre and has recorded for the Finnish National Radio YLE.

She is a versatile musician interested in a variety of styles, from classical to contemporary music, but also free improvisation, electroacoustic music and interdisciplinary arts.

During her career, Fàtima has performed in some of the best concert halls in the world like the Lincoln Center (New York), the Berliner Philharmonie and Suntory Hall (Tokyo), and she has been invited to play in many festivals all over the world.
