Co-Principal Violoncello of the “Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana”.
He got a full scholarship to study at the Juilliard and the Manhattan School of Music in New York. He has also been selected to attend the masterclasses of Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, Janos Starker and Lynn Harrell.
He played as a soloist with orchestras such as “Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana” (Lorin Maazel), The Jeunesses Musicales (Robert Satanowski) and the Manhattan School of Music Symphony (George Manahan).
Rafal worked with composers such as Lorin Maazel (El árbol dadivoso), Gian Carlo Menotti (Suite for two cellos and piano) and Ned Rorem (Spring Music para trío). He won the del “Lotos Club Foundation Prize in the Arts”, 32nd Artists International Auditions, Eisenberg Concerto Competition, Interlochen Arts Academy and the Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competitions.
